Upcycle & Woodwork Room
Our Upcycle and Woodwork Room is a practical, creative space where students learn hands-on skills while working with reclaimed and recycled materials. Here, everyday objects and unwanted furniture are transformed into something useful and meaningful.
Participants learn how to safely use tools, measure materials, sand, assemble, and design simple projects. Activities might include restoring small pieces of furniture, building wooden items, or repurposing materials that would otherwise be thrown away.
For many of the young adults we support, practical activities like woodwork can be incredibly empowering. Working with tools and materials allows them to see immediate results from their efforts, building confidence and pride in their work.
This space helps develop:
Practical life and vocational skills
Problem-solving and creativity
Hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills
Patience and focus
Just as importantly, the room promotes sustainability and environmental awareness, encouraging students to think about reuse and responsible consumption.
By creating real, tangible products, participants experience the satisfaction of making something themselves, which can be a powerful boost for self-esteem and independence.
