Communication Room

The Communication Room is a dedicated space where students can develop confidence in expressing themselves and connecting with others.

Communication means different things for different people. Some students may be working on verbal communication, while others may use alternative or supported communication methods.

In this space, activities are designed to encourage interaction in a relaxed and supportive environment. These might include:

  • Conversation practice

  • Communication games

  • Storytelling and creative expression

  • Group discussions and social activities

The room is designed to feel welcoming and calm, helping students feel comfortable sharing their ideas and participating at their own pace.

Developing communication skills is essential for building relationships, participating in the community, and advocating for personal needs.

This space supports:

  • Confidence in self-expression

  • Listening and social interaction skills

  • Understanding and responding to others

  • Building friendships and connections

By providing structured opportunities to practise communication, we help students develop the skills they need to connect with others and participate more fully in everyday life.
