Our young adults enjoyed an art workshop today ran by Creative Village CIC (Community Interest Company) which was set up by two passionate young artists who support creative expression for all. Lucy Addison and Jess Langford provide art based workshops which give attendees the opportunity to explore feelings, build confidence and develop skills in self-expression. These workshops are aimed at people with additional needs and those who are socially excluded or isolated.
They are currently delivering a project called Get Creative, which is funded by The Big Lottery Awards for All Fund, to young people with caring responsibilities, young people on the Autistic Spectrum and young adults with special needs. By tailoring the workshops to their specific needs and adapting them where necessary the young people leave the workshops with increased confidence, social skills, skills in various art disciplines and a new way of expressing and dealing with emotions. There is a gallery of images in our portfolio from today.
